In Awe…

Did you ever have one of those days, or weeks, when everything just seems to fall into place? Well, I have. And while today may have not been one of those days, it certainly has been an interesting last several weeks. When I sit back and look at all the things that had to come together for some of the events in our lives to take place, the unmistakeable hand of God was all over us. As I get older I get better at recognizing the movement of God in my life. When I was less spiritually mature, I think I chalked much of this kind of thing up to coincidence but now I know better. There have just been too many occasions when things fell into place and those kinds of things rarely are left to chance.

It’s amazing to me how God can work in our lives if we just let go and let God do His things through us. And I guarantee that the things we believe are best for us are limited by our inability to even remotely comprehend the magnitude of God and how He can move in our daily lives. But a huge part of this while process is having the ability to recognize that we are not in control – He is. And another thing – you must be expecting God to work in your life and not be afraid to reach out for help when you need it.

I live my life knowing that the Father is going to work on a daily basis. And I am constantly in awe of the way He works. I can be having a really bad day and all of a sudden, things change. It’s probably a result of reaching out in a moment of prayer to ask for help. And I certainly try to thank God for the interventions in my life. I know where my help comes from.

Even today, I experienced the hand of God. As I was driving on the expressway, a crane was working on several lanes that were closed to through traffic. Just as I was passing, a large chuck of concrete broke away from the load the crane was carrying and it crashed to the ground. If I had been in the right hand lane, it would have come crashing through the windshield. As it happened, I was in the left lane and wasn’t impacted at all. Coincidence? – I don’t think so. Suddenly, my entire outlook was changed. Thankfully, no one else was hurt either.

I think by now you get the idea – expect God to work in your life and be in awe of His grace and greatness. The verse for this evening is from Dr. Luke, who tells us in Luke 5:26, “And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.” (ESV)

My encouragement this evening is that God wants to “wow” you and amaze you with His presence in your life. A word of advice here – invite Him in. My prayer is that you will come to see all the things that God puts together for those who love Him. And believe me, when you live your life for the Lord and expect His presence, it doesn’t get any better than that. Have a great day in the Lord, grace and peace…
