Then I Saw a New Site…

By November 10, 2022December 7th, 2022Devotional

Well, if you are here, you have successfully found our first new post and website one way or another. As I told you last Sunday evening, after twelve years on the same platform, we were woefully behind in leveraging new technologies and had to do something about it. It was kind of like trying to use an old fashioned rotary phone (remember those?) in a world of cell phones and 5g networks. In fact, did you know that there is more technology in our current day smartphones than was present in the Apollo lunar missions to the surface of the moon? Things change so quickly that it is difficult to keep up – especially for me as I think I am technologically challenged.

Thanks to the help of several very smart and dedicated people, tonight marks the first post written on the new platform. Of course, I never thought that I would be writing for all these years, authoring more than 1808 posts! But here we are…

Our verse last Sunday referenced the fact that in the book of Revelation we are told that God is making everything new – an appropriate verse for what we have had to go through the last several months. It may even look pretty much the same, but I assure you, everything is, indeed, new! It feels great to have a fresh start and clean everything up. In fact, the same thing happens in Revelation. We, as believers, get a do over. That’s what we have gone through here at TBTB.

So if you haven’t already done so, please visit transitionsbythebook.com and re-subscribe with your current email address just to make sure that we have it correct. You will receive a confirmation email affirming that you want to sign up. If you don’t see it, please check your spam or junk filter. Once you confirm you want to be a part of our community, you’re all set.

We will also be posting to FaceBook (Transitions by The Book), LinkedIn (Scott Toussaint) and Twitter (@chgthrufaith) – so please feel free to follow us at any/all of those social platforms. We are excited to have you with us.

So… the change is done. We have a completely new platform and the first website has “passed away”…. Out with the old and in with the new! Perhaps those words sound familiar to you. In fact, the apostle John tells us about his glimpse of heaven and earth after Jesus comes to reign eternally. God, in His infinite wisdom, started His relationship with mankind in a garden, the Garden of Eden – and at the end of the Bible we will end up in a garden as well – once again walking with God for all time.

John introduces this to us in tonight’s verse when he tells us about the new heaven and new earth he was privileged to see. He tells us, in Revelation 21:1-2, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”

I am excited to see the changes that we have made with TBTB, let alone what it will be like to see a new heaven and a new earth! How very wonderful. In any event, my encouragement tonight is that God created us to be in community with Him – and that’s what will once again happen for all time. We wish for the same thing with all of you. We look forward to continuing our relationship with each of our readers.

My prayer is that we will be able to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the entire world as God enables us – through the efforts of dedicated people who serve in this ministry with me. Have a great day in the Lord, grace and peace! Amen!
